About Her
Hey y’all, I’m Christie. I was born an Okie, but raised in the Lone Star State. I graduated from SMU then had the opportunity to live on both coasts before moving back to Big D about 12 years ago.
I like to think that I was born with my love of all things vintage. My paternal grandparents had a booth at an antique mall for my entire childhood and would go on grand adventures collecting trinkets – sometimes I was lucky enough to get to tag along during summer vacation. I find such joy and excitement in digging through the past at an estate sale or hunting for items on a junkin’ trip… my attempt to fill my grandparents’ shoes. Unwrapping our finds and displaying them in our store is like Christmas morning! My mom affectionately calls this treasure hunting. And it’s true, these are all treasures of the past waiting to be rediscovered.
I’m often asked if I am drawn to a particular style or era and I’m really not, I love all varieties of vintage pieces from Pyrex dishes to mid-century modern barware to a 50s velour floral sofa to chippy old milk cans and everything in between. If it has a story or a history, it usually finds its way into my car. My hope is that you find something in our store and give it a story all your own. Happy hunting!
About Him
Howdy y’all. My name is Steve. I spent a lot of time as a kid with my paternal Grandparents on their farm. They lived in a very small farmhouse with an abundance of history. Every item had a story and I would listen intently as my Grandma shared her stories with me. A fire was ignited in my heart to know the story and create memories for the items I chose to fill my home with. My home, our online store and our future brick-and-mortar store are, and will be, filled with vintage furniture, clothing, linens and home furnishings that have been lovingly chosen from their original owners, all with a story. I enjoy repairing, refinishing and caringly restoring the treasures we choose. However, most of our treasures are lovingly left alone with their stories and histories intact.
I have spent the last thirty plus years in the service industry. During those many years, I have collected a large amount of vintage and thrifty treasures, ranging from well-loved furniture to household furnishings, all with a story and history before I acquired them. I am excited to share those treasures with you all.
I love older things that people have used and cherished. They have personality, character and soul.
About Us
We met at trivia a few years ago and during weekly dinners putting our random facts and useless knowledge to good use, we discovered we both had a deep affinity for vintage. We started going to estate sales together which made it so much more fun – to dig and hunt with a friend makes it twice as nice. After about a year, we both mentioned at different times what a dream it would be to open our own vintage boutique. And then after a lot of talking (mostly on Steve’s part, and if you know him at all, you know that’s the truth), we decided to go for it! And here we are. We hope you love our treasures that have been handpicked for you and that you feel the same nostalgia and joy we felt finding them for you!
